Top 10 TEV report consultants in India: a practical shortlist

The right consultant depends on your project, sector, lender and delivery needs. Use this shortlist to compare published capabilities and ask a consistent set of questions.

How to read this list: Bitcon publishes this guide and is listed first. “Top 10” describes our editorial shortlist, not an independently scored ranking, an exhaustive market survey or a claim that one firm is best for every project. The order is editorial. Other firms’ descriptions are based on their linked official pages, reviewed on 27 September 2026.

Selection reflects a published TEV or feasibility offering and its relevance to Indian project appraisal. We have not commissioned competing proposals, audited other firms’ delivery quality or compared their fees and turnaround times.

Which companies prepare TEV reports?

Technical and financial consulting firms prepare Techno-Economic Viability reports within an agreed scope. For a bank-led assignment, confirm the intended lender’s current acceptance and appointment requirements before engaging a firm.

1. Bitcon

Direct technical engagement and a clear delivery plan

Bitcon brings engineering and financial appraisal together, with an emphasis on agility, sector understanding and direct coordination. Its TEV service sets out deliverables, responsibilities and an indicative two-to-three-week programme after complete inputs, agreed scope and appointment, and site access where required.

Consider Bitcon when you value access to the appraisal team, a defined query process and prompt coordination across technical and financial inputs. Agree the actual turnaround for your project.

Bitcon’s published empanelments include TEV scope with multiple banks and financial institutions. Coverage varies by institution, scope and validity; it does not establish that Bitcon has more empanelments than every other firm. See Bitcon’s scope-specific empanelments.

Before appointing: Ask for relevant sector examples and confirmation of the proposed bank’s current TEV appointment requirements.

How to choose a TEV consultant

  1. Start with lender acceptance. Confirm the firm, scope, sector and any appointment conditions with the intended recipient. A logo or past empanelment alone is not enough.
  2. Ask for comparable experience. Request evidence relevant to your technology, project stage and scale, with client confidentiality respected.
  3. Meet the delivery team. Identify who handles engineering, market assessment and financial modelling, and who signs or reviews the report.
  4. Compare the scope. Check site visits, primary market work, input validation, financial schedules, sensitivities and exclusions.
  5. Agree milestones. Define when complete inputs are due, when draft findings arrive and how queries affect the final date.
  6. Compare the full fee proposal. Include travel, specialist studies, revisions and post-report clarifications. This guide does not provide verified fee benchmarks.
  7. Clarify independence. State the appointing party and separate independent appraisal from any fundraising or implementation mandate.

Does a bigger empanelment list make a firm the right choice?

It can indicate experience working within institutional appointment frameworks, but scope and validity matter. Confirm acceptance for your specific assignment, then assess sector depth, the proposed team and delivery capacity. This guide does not claim that Bitcon has the largest empanelment list.

How quickly can a TEV report be prepared?

Turnaround depends on project complexity, complete inputs, site access and review requirements. Bitcon typically plans two to three weeks once those prerequisites and the appointment are in place. Ask every shortlisted firm for a project-specific programme; this is not a comparative speed claim.
